Privacy, accuracy, and how Mirra works.
- Is my photo private? Does it get uploaded?
- Yes, it's private. Your face is read and measured entirely in your browser. Your photo is never uploaded, stored, or sent to any server — only the frame image you add uses the network.
- Do I need an account or app?
- No sign-up, no download, no upload. Mirra runs in any modern browser — just open it and start trying frames on.
- How accurate is the sizing?
- When a frame publishes its measurements, Mirra scales it to those real millimetres against your face, so you can see if frames are too wide or too narrow. Scale starts as an estimate from your eyes; enter your PD to calibrate it to exact true scale.
- What is PD calibration and why does it matter?
- PD is the distance between your pupils. Iris size varies between people, so the automatic estimate can be a few percent off. Entering your real PD sets the scale from ground truth and re-sizes every frame.
- Does it work with any glasses?
- Yes. Paste a product link from any eyewear store and Mirra finds the front-on frame photo, or upload your own image of the frames. No brand integration or 3D model required.
- How is this different from a retailer's AR try-on?
- Retailer AR usually needs a custom 3D model built for each frame and often sends your camera data to their servers. Mirra needs no 3D scan, works with any frame from any store, runs entirely on your device, and shows honest true scale — no beautification or restyling.
- Is Mirra free?
- Yes, Mirra is free for personal use.
